Dr. Sara Hogle was born and raised in Crescent City, a small, remote town in coastal northern California. She was introduced to veterinary medicine very early in life by her father, who is a veterinarian. As a young girl she developed a passion for the profession that has only grown stronger over the years. She completed her bachelor and veterinary medical degrees at the University of California, Davis, graduating with honors from undergrad and as valedictorian of her veterinary class. After graduation, she traveled with her husband, Chris, to Ecuador, where they volunteered with a wild animal rescue and rehabilitation facility deep in the Amazon jungle. She had the extraordinary opportunity to apply her medical and surgical knowledge there, working with monkeys, capybaras, reptiles, parrots, and many other fascinating animals. Upon return to the states, she resumed her work with dogs and cats and joined the staff at Baring Animal Hospital in May 2009. Her special interests include dermatology, dentistry, and soft-tissue surgery.
