Dr. Heather Simon is originally from Los Angeles, but left the warmth and sunshine to attend The University of Michigan for her undergraduate studies. After earning a BA in Economics, she moved to Madison, Wisconsin where she pursued a graduate degree in law. Five years into her legal career in Madison, her beloved dog Moby developed cancer and required long-term therapy by the oncology specialist. This experience sparked her interest in veterinary medicine and, together with her life-long love for animals, inspired her to follow her heart.
Dr. Simon graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. She then returned to California to complete a small animal internship at Loomis Basin Veterinary Clinic in Sacramento. For the past 10 years, Dr. Simon has been practicing general medicine and surgery in the Truckee/Tahoe area. Her professional interests include internal medicine, international shelter medicine/rescue, and emergency medicine. When she isn’t working, you can find Dr. Simon playing in the mountains or cuddling with her dogs, Trevor and Joppa.
